If you are buying easy care tropical fish for the first time and you need to know about tropical fish aquarium care and how to set up the aquarium before putting the fish inside, then there are a few things that you are going to need to know. Once you get the hang of it you will find it quite simple but at first it can definitely be pretty confusing.

How to do it

So you need to set up the aquarium for your easy care tropical fish, well the first thing that you have to do doesn’t even have anything to do with setting up the tank. Instead, it is that you have to decide on what type of easy care tropical fish you are getting or have already purchased, and then take some time to do a bit of research on them.

This is important, for one because you are going to need to know how to care for the specific easy care tropical fish that you are getting but also make sure that the different fish that you are getting are going to be compatible with each other.

This will help you to select the different pieces of equipment that you are going to need for the tank. Visit your local pet store and see what sort of equipment is available and talk to the professional working there as well as they are going to be able to let you know what you need, depending on the type of fish that you have and also the budget that you are working with.

You will then need to cycle the tank and then clean the tank, and cleaning the tank is a pretty simple and straightforward task. You want to only remove part of the water whenever you are cleaning the tank, and then replace it with fresh, dechlorinated tap water. You should be using your siphon at this time to suck up some of the gunk that collects in the gravel and decorations that you have put in the tank.

Just make sure that you never replace all the water at once, because this can result in too much chlorine getting into the fish and possibly harming or even killing them.

Now after you are finished setting up the aquarium for your easy care tropical fish, if you notice that there is algae growing on the surface of the tank or ornaments, you should get an algae scraper and get rid of this as soon as you can.
